Recently, I downloaded the brand new Ustream.tv App. It alows anyone with an iPod Touch/iPhone to watch live video being broadcast from Ustream.tv. My live show is hosted by Ustream, so you can watch my live show from it.
Overall, I give it a 4 out of 5. Graphics: 4/5, Interface: 5/5, and Qaulity: 4.5/5. The reason I give it a 4.5/5 for quality is because every so often, the app will not load streams or it will take many minutes to load them. The fact that it is a free app overrides the minor disfunctions. I enjoy being able to be anywhere in my house and pull up The Tech Buzz or Chris Pirillo Live, without having to get my laptop or boot it up. The chat feature is also very nice. If you have an account with Ustream.tv, you can enter any stream’s chat, as long as the chat is using the Ustream IRC server. The way to tell the difference is tat if you can see the chat preview, they are using the Ustream IRC Server. If you only see the number of viewers, then they are on another server.
Overall, this is a worthwhile app that is very fun and useful. I definatley recommned it.
